1. What Wapsi does
Wapsi is a Shopify-embedded application that lets your shoppers sign up for a WhatsApp message when a sold-out product comes back into stock. We host the storefront widget, the merchant admin, the alert pipeline, and the integration with your WhatsApp Business Solution Provider (BSP).
2. The two parties
- You — the Shopify merchant who installs Wapsi (the "Merchant").
- Us — the operator of Wapsi (the "Service"). Reachable at contact@wapsi.app.
Your shoppers are not party to this agreement — their relationship is with you, the Merchant. Wapsi processes shopper data on your behalf under our Privacy policy.
3. Your account
- You access Wapsi through your Shopify admin — no separate login.
- Whoever can install apps on your Shopify store can administer your Wapsi account. Manage Shopify staff permissions accordingly.
- You're responsible for keeping your WhatsApp BSP credentials accurate. We'll surface delivery failures in the admin; fixing the underlying account is on you.
4. Pricing & billing
- Billing runs through Shopify's Managed Pricing. The Pro plan ($9/month for 2,000 alerts) appears on your normal monthly Shopify invoice.
- The Free plan (50 alerts/month) requires no payment.
- Plan changes are pro-rated by Shopify automatically.
- If you uninstall, billing stops on Shopify's normal uninstall cadence (typically end of the current period).
- Prices are listed in USD. Shopify converts to your store's currency at their published rate.
5. Fair-use quota
"2,000 alerts per month" means up to 2,000 restock notifications in a calendar billing period:
- One alert = one shopper let know about one restock, whether we WhatsApp them, fire a
subscription.restockedwebhook to your own pipeline (Zapier, custom SMS, Klaviyo), or both. - Subscribers, signups, click tracking, and the shop-wide
restock.detectedsummary webhook are unlimited. - An alert is counted the moment a shopper is paired with a restock, before any message is attempted. WhatsApp messages that can't be delivered (wrong number, shopper opted out) still count.
- The exception: failures caused by Wapsi (a misconfigured WhatsApp template, a credentials error on our side) are not charged against your quota.
- Once you cross 100% of the quota, further pairings in that period are recorded as missed in your admin but no message goes out. Shopper signups stay on your list; alerts resume next billing period or when you upgrade.
- If your real traffic genuinely exceeds 2,000/month and you'd like to keep sending, email us at contact@wapsi.app — we'll set up a plan that fits.
- We reserve the right to throttle or pause an account that is clearly using the Service for non-restock or bulk-marketing purposes that violate WhatsApp's Business Messaging policy.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Wapsi for messages other than the legitimate restock alerts shoppers signed up for.
- Upload phone numbers that did not consent to be contacted on WhatsApp through your store.
- Send content that violates WhatsApp's Business Messaging Policy or Meta's Commerce Policy.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer the Service, access other merchants' data, or interfere with how it runs for anyone else.
- Use the Service to support illegal activity, harassment, or the sale of restricted goods.
If your WhatsApp number gets restricted by Meta for content you sent, that's between you, your BSP, and Meta — we can't recover a banned number.
7. Your data, your store
You retain ownership of all data you and your shoppers put into Wapsi. We process it strictly to deliver the Service, as described in our Privacy policy. On uninstall we wipe your data on the schedule set by Shopify's shop/redact webhook.
Our processing of personal data on your behalf is governed by our Data Processing Agreement, which forms part of these Terms and satisfies Article 28 of the EU and UK GDPR.
8. Service availability
- We aim for high availability but make no contractual uptime guarantee at this tier.
- We may take the Service down briefly for maintenance, security patches, or upgrades. We'll try to schedule these outside your peak hours when we can.
- Shopify, your WhatsApp BSP, and Meta's WhatsApp infrastructure can all go down independently of us; we can't be responsible for outages outside our boundary.
9. Third-party services
Wapsi sits on top of Shopify, your WhatsApp BSP, and Meta's WhatsApp infrastructure. Your relationships with each of them are governed by their own terms. We'll do our best to give you visibility into their failures, but we don't speak for them.
10. Refunds
Shopify is the billing party. Refund requests go through them. Email us at contact@wapsi.app if something has gone wrong and we'll help where we can — including endorsing a Shopify-side refund where it's clearly warranted.
11. Termination
- You can uninstall any time from your Shopify admin — that ends the agreement on our side.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate the acceptable-use section above, or that present a clear risk to other merchants or to the Service. We'll let you know first when we can.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Wapsi does not guarantee the deliverability of any individual WhatsApp message; deliverability depends on the shopper's WhatsApp app, your BSP, and Meta.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in that period (which for most merchants is zero or single-digit dollars per month). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or lost-profit damages.
14. Changes to these terms
If we change anything material we'll update the effective date at the top and post a notice inside the admin. Continuing to use the Service after a change means the new terms apply. If you don't agree with a change, uninstall.
