Terms of service

Plain-English terms for using Wapsi. By installing the app from the Shopify App Store you agree to what's below; if you don't, please uninstall and we'll part as friends.

1. What Wapsi does

Wapsi is a Shopify-embedded application that lets your shoppers sign up for a WhatsApp message when a sold-out product comes back into stock. We host the storefront widget, the merchant admin, the alert pipeline, and the integration with your WhatsApp Business Solution Provider (BSP).

2. The two parties

Your shoppers are not party to this agreement — their relationship is with you, the Merchant. Wapsi processes shopper data on your behalf under our Privacy policy.

If your WhatsApp number gets restricted by Meta for content you sent, that's between you, your BSP, and Meta — we can't recover a banned number.

7. Your data, your store

You retain ownership of all data you and your shoppers put into Wapsi. We process it strictly to deliver the Service, as described in our Privacy policy. On uninstall we wipe your data on the schedule set by Shopify's shop/redact webhook.

Our processing of personal data on your behalf is governed by our Data Processing Agreement, which forms part of these Terms and satisfies Article 28 of the EU and UK GDPR.

9. Third-party services

Wapsi sits on top of Shopify, your WhatsApp BSP, and Meta's WhatsApp infrastructure. Your relationships with each of them are governed by their own terms. We'll do our best to give you visibility into their failures, but we don't speak for them.

Shopify is the billing party. Refund requests go through them. Email us at contact@wapsi.app if something has gone wrong and we'll help where we can — including endorsing a Shopify-side refund where it's clearly warranted.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Wapsi does not guarantee the deliverability of any individual WhatsApp message; deliverability depends on the shopper's WhatsApp app, your BSP, and Meta.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in that period (which for most merchants is zero or single-digit dollars per month). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or lost-profit damages.

14. Changes to these terms

If we change anything material we'll update the effective date at the top and post a notice inside the admin. Continuing to use the Service after a change means the new terms apply. If you don't agree with a change, uninstall.
